Excessive Noise and Vibration

Excessive Noise and Vibration

For many equipment, not just pumps, “excessive noise and vibration” can be a sign of malfunction. For example, there is a possibility of a fan failure in a computer that makes loud noises, and pumps operating with excessive noise and vibration also give a malfunction signal. So what does this noise and vibration indicate?
• There may be a problem with the chassis. The chassis may be unstable or mobile.
• There may be a problem with the chassis. The chassis may be unstable or mobile.
• If the pump is operating under vibration, this may be due to two problems; There may be air left in the pump and installation or air may be sucked in the suction line.• Pump bearings may not be lubricated enough or wear may have occurred in the bearings.
• Of course, the first thing that comes to mind for this much noise and vibration is not to write down the cause of the malfunction; wheel problem. A deformation, wear and tear in the fan can also cause malfunction problems.
• There may be a problem caused by the elements. For example, there may be a problem with valves, guards or enclosures.
• If you detect friction between the rotating parts and the fixed parts, this may be the cause of the malfunction.
• The pump may have foreign matter causing an imbalance and an anomaly. This failure is another indicator of how important pump cleaning and maintenance is.
